Sowing and Growing Instructions:
- Before sowing, soak the seeds in water for 24 hours to soften the seed coat and speed up germination.
- Select a sunny spot with well-draining soil, and enrich it by digging in compost or well-rotted manure before planting.
- Sow seeds 2.5cm to 3cm deep and space them 5cm to 10cm apart.
- Water thoroughly upon planting, but avoid watering again until the seeds germinate (usually within 10 to 14 days) to prevent rotting.
- Provide a tall, sturdy support structure or trellis for the vines to climb.
- Once the plants are about 10cm to 15cm tall, pinch out the central growing tip just above a leaf joint to encourage bushy growth and more blooms.
- Water deeply 2 to 3 times a week to keep the soil consistently moist, and apply a high-quality liquid fertilizer weekly once growing vigorously.
- Harvest and deadhead flowers frequently to prolong the blooming season and prevent the plants from setting seed.
